Revenue opportunities for video content owners

Last week, we announced that the video units feature will soon be retired. Our announcement has created some confusion, so we thought it would be helpful to outline how Google will still continue to support revenue opportunities for video content owners.
The video units feature allowed publishers to create video unit players, with YouTube partner content and accompanying ads, within their AdSense accounts. They could then embed this special player into their web pages, and revenue generated from the ads would be split between the YouTube partner, the AdSense publisher, and Google. Although we're retiring the video units feature, we'll continue to offer the following monetization solutions to video content creators:
AdSense for video
AdSense for video gives video owners the ability to earn money from videos they create or own. They can run placement targeted instream video ads (pre, mid, post rolls) and graphical overlays or contextually targeted text ads in Flash players, and the ad revenue will be split between the video owner and Google.
Current AdSense for video publishers include Encyclopedia Britannica, Demand Media, and College Humor. If you'd like more information about the program or how to apply, visit our microsite.
YouTube Partner Program
Similarly, the YouTube Partner Program enables popular content creators to share in advertising revenue from their own videos hosted on YouTube. Participants can choose the videos on which they'd like to show overlay ads or accompanying banner ads. These videos earn them money whether they're viewed on YouTube or embedded onto web pages elsewhere online, and the revenue generated from these ads will be split between the YouTube partner and Google.
The YouTube Partner Program has thousands of participants from ten countries around the world, and is accepting applications. To learn more about the program, visit the Partnerships Benefits page.

As a YouTube Partner I now get about 80% of my revenue reported under "AdSense for Content Host" and only 20% of my earnings reported under "YouTube". I believe you are therefore taking away 80% of my earnings! Am I wrong?

I THINK I CAN CLARIFY... IF YOU OWN VIDEO CONTENT AND ARE GENERATING INCOME THROUGH YOUTUBE PARTNERSHIP + ADSENSE YOU WILL NOT BE AFFECTED. IF YOU DON"T OWN VIDEO CONTENT BUT ARE USING YOUTUBE PARTNERSHIP VIDEOS ON YOUR WEBSITE YOU WILL BE AFFECTED.

Why is it impossible to contact Google when you have problems?
When I click "Adsense" from my Google Account page, it says tells me I don't have an adsense account.
When I "submit an application" it asks for my existing Google account details and then says this account is already used for adsense.
When I try to contact you at this form:
https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/request.py?hl=en_GBcontact=forgotlogin
After answering all the questions correctly, it says "please contact us at _this form_" and the link goes back to step one.
I've spent over 2 hours trying to get my account sorted and your website and support is useless.
I would appreciate if you can point me in the right direction to resolve this utter mess that is Google Accounts.

You are NOT alone!
We have exactly the same problem - I posted this comment yesterday (no answer ofcourse)
GOOGLE SUPPORT FOR ADSENSE IS NON-EXISTING
We have tried to contact Google Adsense for support. We have at least one support request (#410025900), but all we get is standard answers that does not solve our issue!
WE CAN NOT LOGIN TO OUR ADSENSE ACCOUNT "no adsense on this account" - when we try to apply for adsense for this mailadress it says "this account already has adsense, you can only have one site per account"
We also tried to apply for adsense on another Gmail account, but there we were rejected - "you alreade have adsense for this site on another account"
PLEASE HELP US!

We finallay managed to access our account!
I simply reset my password at this page: www.google.com/adsensepassword
It seems that adsense does not use the same password-database as other google services..
Good luck!

When I use that password page, I just get this message:
Account Not Active
An AdSense account does not exist for this login, as the email associated with the account has not yet been verified. Please verify your email address using the email that was sent to you earlier. If you cannot find this email, you can use the form below to re-send the verification email.
I've tried that before (a link from the help). They send me an email to "confirm" my email address, but it jumps half-way into a sign-up process, which then asks for account details, and then says "sorry, this account already has an adsense account"

Hopefully someone can look into it. The "help" is a joke, I've been going in circles for days :(

we post hundreds of youtube videos on our site monthly. we're helping youtube and their advertisers make money. as a high traffic content/video publisher we should have a way to get paid.
advertisers and video creators are getting paid via our work.
is there a way to do this or should we just stop allowing youtube videos to be posted on our forum and blogs?

@AMP, you're benefiting from the traffic due to the youtube videos on your site and you want to remove them? Sounds like you've already been paid. Or haven't you monetised yet?

I think being a YouTube partner helps increase your chances of getting paid by Google Adsense. Especially when the advertisements can show up on embedded videos in other sites.

I really wish that you guys would bring this ad type back to adsense, or at the very least, make the video embedded ads open to everyone. Also, a youtube video converter hook in the youtube API would be nice. Too many devices & formats these days.

I have never seen anything like this. You CANNOT get in touch with these people. And they're arrogant enough to set us up to run around in circles, trying to send an email, without ever giving us the option to actually send said email.
This is seriously the worst customer support that I have ever seen. And the help section is useless and outdated as well. Google should be embarrassed.
