Add on to AdSense

Do you regularly work with your webpages and AdSense implementation, tinkering with HTML or PHP and creating images and code on the fly? If you do, Firefox add-ons can help streamline the process of creating webpages. Here are some in particular that you may find useful:

ColorZilla
This extension tells you which RGB or hex color you're looking at, to help you make sure you created that logo for your business with just the right shade of blue, for instance. The tool also creates custom color palettes while you're browsing, so you can use them in your designs.

MeasureIt
Like the name says, use this add-on to measure the width and height in pixels of any element you see on a webpage. It's very simple to use, and you can define how much space you have left for that AdSense ad unit on the right-side. :)

IE View
Do you frequently use Internet Explorer to check how your website renders on that browser? This add-on allows you to view the way any page would look if it were opened in IE, without the hassle of opening another browser. You can also see pages that aren't Firefox-friendly much more easily.

WebDeveloper toolbar
This all-in-one toolbar gives you quick control over things like JavaScript display, form and CSS elements, screen resizing (so you know what your website looks like in smaller resolutions), HTML validation, and much more.

Hopefully, we'll soon have a similar set of add-ons for Chrome, and we'll be sure to share them with our readers.

What are your favorite add-ons for web developing? Leave us a comment below.

I use firebug extensively. It does most of the stuff you have pointed out including helping you find page loadtimes by each component. Notepad++ for coding, yui for compressing stuff, and ofcourse plenty of google searches to look up that HTML tag or css style or anything I know I need to know! ;-)

Btw it would be good if you guys write more on what's happening with the adsense market in this economy as am seeing a hit in my ecpm and how to fix that!

I already use all 4 Firefox add-ons you have mentioned. They are gift from the god for web developers. Also I use a Firebug to work with html and css, and I use YSlow to check how fast my web site pages are loading.

Excellent post, great reference for beginners!

I would also recommend NoScript! It blocks all javascripts except the ones that I explicitly allow, prevents a lot of malicious scripts from hurting me.

Google Global is a tool I use all the time. Especially to see results that are not personalised if logged into my Google account.

There are some Firefox extensions that claim to show your adsense earning in status bar so you don't have to login every few hours to check how much you have made so far..

Yes I am stat-o-holic!

I am wondering what's adsense team's take on using such extensions. so far not knowing Google's position on these extensions is only reason I have not checked those out.

Thanks for the great list. "IE view" would be the one that I would be interested in first. Would save lot of trouble verifying the browser compatibility!
