1. Ads shouldn't be placed under a title or section heading in a way that implies that the ads are not ads.
For example, ads shouldn't be placed under titles such as “Dallas Business Opportunities” or “Today's Hot Deals”. Placing ads directly below titles such as these implies to your users that the links in the ads are publisher-created content. The example below shows a placement that does not follow this guideline.
2. Ads should be easily distinguishable from surrounding content.
Similarly, you should not place an ad unit by a group of links that has identical colors and line spacing. Doing so may cause users to think the ad unit is content created by you. In this situation, we recommend using a different color for the ad titles or indenting the ad unit to help distinguish the ads from your own content. This screenshot shows an implementation that does not follow this guideline:
As you can imagine, users who click on ads that they think are publisher-created content may lose trust in your site and decide not to return in the future. It's important to keep their interests in mind, as well as your own.
Also, advertisers can tell which sites have a high conversion rate for them using Placement Performance reports. A conversion occurs when a click on an ad leads directly to user behavior that the advertiser deems valuable, such as a purchase, sign-up, page view, or lead. Advertisers have the option to exclude your site from their campaigns and may do so if it is not leading to conversions.
We believe these guidelines invest in the long-term health of the relationship between AdSense publishers, AdWords advertisers, and your sites' visitors, and that they will help ensure your continued success in the AdSense program.

I couldn't find any useful information here or on the web. So I want to ask something seems to relavant here. If not I want to apoligize in advance. My problem and question is how i can optimize my search result pages (not GoogleSearch, my own code)? It seems that Google Adsense can not crawl the content and whatever it is searched, the same adds appear. I have other dynamic pages with the same Meta Tag and content layout listing the results from DB (Kind of a dictionary site) and AdSense works fair. (most of the time;))
Thanks in advance.
Just to clarify: you are not saying that we can't place ads under titles - (after all that has been a recommended placing for large and medium rectangles, in my understanding.)
What you are saying is that the line up and/or colouring/or nature of the title should not lead the viewer to think that the ad is part of the website content.
Is this correct?
Thankyou.
I think she is saying that ads should appear to be just that - ads, and that titles are okay, as long as they are not made to appear to be something you are recommending by the wording of your heading/title.
I've always played by the book, so I added a border to my addblocks and I saw CTR's drop from 2% to 0.3 overnight. Gee, thanks.
I think his question has to do with the targeting of the actual ads placed by Adsense on his page. The bots are not reading his content properly, or maybe it's not optimized well, and so they are placing irrelevant ads or not rotating ads.
This is a question I have, too. Any ideas how to get Adsense to work better?
I think if people tried 'NOT' outsmarting Google all the time, they wouldn't find the need to keep moving the goalposts.
Again, it's the actions of the 'Supposedly Clever' that spoil things for everyone else.
It's the 'mischief-maker' in the class that gets everyone detention.
Kick the mischief-makers out and we can all get back to work.
Pete.
New guidlines are quite surprising as the old guidlnies for optimization are different.
people shoud be aware of this now.
oh yes! many people will not mostly aware of this change.
will google let them know the change?
is this policy change or just a guideline.
I agree with Pete.
Google says publishers are not to create websites just to display AdSense, but they don't enforce it. Any publisher can put AdSense on any site under their control. Google only checks the original site the publisher submitted with his/her application.
I've actually read information from self-proclaimed AdSense experts recommending the reader create a new site with real content to qualify as an AdSense publisher, then the reader can create as many sites as they want using the templates the expert is selling!
If Google would require publishers to get pre-approval for each and every site they publish AdSense on, Google could go a long ways in preventing "made for AdSense" sites in the first place.
Besides a better experience for people surfing the web, advertisers would see a better ROI with content sites and be willing to pay more for the traffic content sites send them. And that means more revenue for publishers.
And then, maybe, Google wouldn't need to change the rules so often.
Just my nickels worth...

You can't have your cake and eat it too. Yet that's exactly what you are trying to do by invoking all these limitations of Adsense placements: you want advertisers to pay you for placing ads on sites but you don't want to pay (or as little as possible) for clicks on those ads. Talk about being a hypocrite: "Do as I say but don't do as I do!"
What so companies like http://www.doclix.com are illegal of adsense policy ?
I will therefore get my adsense account banned ?
Dear Google,
With all due respect, i would like to make a comment
>Ads shouldn't be placed under a >title or section heading in a way >that implies that the ads are not >ads.
Isn't that what the "Ads by Google" is for? Are you guys suggesting that the average websurfer is a complete moron and don't realize that Ads by Google are Ads?
Look, i've got an idea. Take away the option for publishers to customize google ads. Then make your ads butt ugly with a giant label on the top of the ads that reads "DON'T CLICK THESE BUTT UGLY ADS by Google"
then, nobody will click on the ads, nobody will make any money, and nobody will be happy - except the adverters....at least they won't be complaining that advertising costs are too high.
It would be nice if Google could make up its mind about what the rules are instead of constantly changing them. Adsense is paying so little that it's not worth the trouble to keep changing sites to comply.
Hi could someone let me know if this page is okay for adsense??? I mean is the optimisation at this page correct or not???
orissa
plz let me know
For smart web publishers, the Google Ads display options are virtually unlimited.
If you want more revenue, simply place the ads in a well defined zone which in which the colors of the ads and that of the overall design are harmonized — play with darker backgrounds since they work the best.
Those who fear making the ads look like... well, ads, simply need to upgrade their design to better accomodate the AdSense zone(s).
I'm not a fan of censorship either so I'm happy to see Google chooses to educate instead of just attempting to enforce something that may not (yet) be well understood by all publishers.
I guess the basic rule of thumb is that Google Ads should "accompany" the main content, which is hopefully unique, valuable and nicely presented.
Adsense love it
Thanks google
I just want to ask something. can i add ads like shooping ads in my site while i use google adsense?
Hey I have a question. If u go to Business.com the adsense ads at the top of the page, look so much like the directory listings.
I've literally clicked on them many, many times thinking they were actual businesses listed.
Is that kind of format acceptable or does that apply to too much blending?
It's really easy.
Just add the following above all add units.
Google Ads below
DO NOT CLICK
tq
i found the tool that can parsing the google adsense code..here is the link http://www.eblogtemplates.com/how-to-embed-ad-code-anywhere-in-your-blogger-template/
